ARTIST STATEMENT
Art for Relief and Missions is artwork that is specifically dedicated towards helping those who are in need, or to support those who are helping those in need. All proceeds from this artwork will go towards missions or a designated humanitarian project unless otherwise requested. Using our talents and time to benefit others is one life’s greatest joys, and a most rewarding way to live. Inevitably, one always receives more than they give.
Bridging the Gap is of an actual place in Calgary, Canada. The photo from which this was painted was taken by a friend.
I was inspired to paint this painting after a Presidential election debate when the opposing candidates were asked…What is it going to take to heal the great divide in our nation? It was apparent that beyond the typical politicizing, that neither candidate could articulate a viable vision for bringing this desperately needed solution. My initial grief was turned towards intercession, which resulted in the vision of this painting. It’s a message of hope and solution which translates to all impossible situations…whether they be in politics, relationships, or broken dreams. Certainly, there is nothing that is impossible for God. And sometimes, if we see the opportunity, we too can be those who bridge the gap.
